Wards: The Central Islip Legacy
The Central Islip Psychiatric Center shut its doors forever in 1996.
Part of it became a college campus, part became developed, yet other parts
are left abandoned. These structures are a testament to a history that
started over a century ago. Come and see historic images of this once
self-sufficient center with narration to guide your way. Then take a stroll
down the abandoned hallways left behind by this great piece of history, also with
narration. Featuring historic pictures, abandonment video and narration.

Journey back in time to an underground
tunnel in Brooklyn that spans centuries. First used as an underground passage
for the Long Island Railroad, this tunnel lay nearly completely forgotten
from the 1860’s to the 1980’s, when it and its history were finally
rediscovered. See historic photos and live video as the tunnel appears now. Experience
a poignant trip down the tunnel with Bob Diamond, the man who uncovered
the forgotten tunnel.
