BULLETIN: We are giving an ongoing presentation series at local libraries and historical societies. The topic is of course, Long Island's Ruins and Remnants. So, come on out and meet us. Check this page for all the what, when, and where information.

Each presentation features historic ruins and remnants around the local area of the presentation, plus all around Long Island. The presentations use pictures, and video to bring history alive. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions, add input, and talk about their memories of what are now ruins and remnants.

This site is all about Long Island’s rich history, gleaned from the interpretation of persistent remnants of the past.  The site is broken down into the following sections:

Image Ruins :  These are leftover pieces of eras of bygone Long Island which have a story to tell. Examples include large abandoned facilities like the Kings Park Psychiatric Center or trolley tracks in a Northport roadway. We also include historic structures which have been restored and serve new purposes. We applaud those who restore and preserve such structures.

Image Around Town : Every Long Island neighborhood has its own historic and intriguing features. Here we walk you through our neighborhoods and examine ruins, historic places and points of interest.

Image History : This section covers history not necessarily connected to solely one place. We will introduce you to Long Island’s historic figures and events and show you some of the most interesting museums.
